| General Overview | Isem has seen the worst parts of life. Twice. He has seen, or felt the death of 8 of his children. He has personally felt the deaths of both of his wives. Since the last one was less than a year before, he is barely learning to just go on with life. While he is from a race of listeners, his silence now is because he is unsure if he can go on. |

| Personal History | Isem was born on Betazed one hundred and thirty two years ago. His Father left Betazoid with his wife, wishing to stay with his wife. He wasn't from one of the higher families. They had no fifth ring, seventh plate or a toaster or greatness. He was a simple mechanic. Isem traveled with his parents for a few years. His mother taught him about life, his father taught his telepathy and how to work on engines. Finally they ended up on his mother's home world. There he continued his education. While getting out of what passed for education, he met his first wife. The two fell madly in love. They began having kids. When he turned 54, their tenth child had been born. By This point he had proven himself as well gifted with engines. Then the Borg came. On the run from their world, his wife and six of his kids were killed. In the rescue by the Enterprise B, the other 4 were lost when the ship exploded before they could all get transported Isem was shattered. Once he got to Earth he left. He wandered until 2230, where he ended up working for a while with the Cochrane Institute. Finally, wishing to do something with his life, Isem joined Starfleet, but as an enlisted man. He met another Betazoid hybrid, this one part human. It was love at first sight. In the next year she had a child. One year later, in 2365, word passed through starfleet about the Borg. Isem began to worry. Now he feared the past was going to be replayed. Life continued for the next year. He was promoted And transferred to the USS Poseidon. There he was given the position of chief engineer. Life moved along slowly. Until that fateful battle at Wolf 359. In the battle, he was on the Poseidon and knew his wife and child were on the Melbourne. When Her ship was destroyed, he felt her screams of terror. After the battle he learned his daughter was safe, on Earth. For the past year he has been healing, physically and mentally with his daughter. He has been reading up on every engineering paper he can find and waiting for a new ship to come to them. |
